Update on USCIS Delay and Meng's health

Just a quick note to let you know that we are making progress! Brogan's state fingerprinting/clearances came back yesterday! This is much faster than expected. Our caseworker sent them off yesterday, along with an addendum to our homestudy to be approved by Illinois. It should clear IL in a day or 2. On June 2nd, we take Brogan to St.Louis for her federal printing, Once cleared by IL, then we send our fee, our homestudy addendum and a supplemental form to USCIS, and then we are through this mess! A travel date should come a few weeks later. Whew! It looks like this delay will only set us back a month......which is better than expected! Thank you Jesus!
Also, a quick update on Meng's health: We received this email this morning, after inquiring about Meng's health. This is an excerpt from the email: Hi Ann McKinney this is Emily's medical answer: every three weeks she will get transfustion and red blood cells. she does not have aport; no iron chelatin but i think her iron level is high ,next week we will plan to check her iron level. and her spleen is huger. maybe she need splenectomy when she is old enough.
that is all, if you need ask more question, please send e-mail to me. GB dr jane
Thanks Dr. Jane, for the update! Here is also a fairly new pic of Meng. This pic was taken during an illness, so she does not look her smiley self, but she is still beautiful! We will update again soon. And, I almost forgot, CONGRATS to Travis and Charlotte on finding their forever families, and the Piersons for the birth of their newest treasure........Lydia Kate! God is Good!

  1. Hi Ann,
Thanks so much for the invitation to your world, your family is BEEUTIFUL! I'm so glad to hear that your USCIS issues are moving to a solution quickly. Emily is a doll, and I know they are taking good care of her while they wait for mommy to come. Yes, international adoption is a rollercoaster, it is not for the faint of heart, but of course it is all worth it. I can't wait to follow your trip to your sweet girl!
    all the best,
    Anne
