News and a great pic!

Here is a beautiful new pic of MengYan! An update on our delay: Our homestudy has been re-written, and will be hand-delivered to the IL office on Monday. If things go as planned, WACAP should have it on Tues or Wed, and they will put a cover letter with it, send it off to USCIS, and then we are back on track! :)
On Thursday, we had a telephone conference with a social worker to prepare us for the first few weeks with MengYan. It was quite interesting! We were told that most likely, she will bond with Dale first. Also, that we should expect her to scream, bite, spit, and tantrum quite often the first week. How fun! It all has to do with the tremendous stress and fear the children are experiencing. Even though she has our photo album, and the ayis have tried to explain to her what will happen, I am sure she does not fully understand. So, basically, we were told this will be quite a "challending" experience! That's OK...........we are ready! We continue to pray that God will prepare her heart, as well as ours, for our first meeting, and for our life together. We cannot WAIT to meet her!

  1. So glad to hear that your paperwork is almost back on track! Here's to smooth sailing from here on out. I really believe that the way they introduce babies and children to their parents in China should be improved, the "drop and dash" is so terrifying and traumatic for the child! In the long run it will be fine though, and experience parents like you guys will know what to do to ease little MenYan through the first week. You have our prayers!
    best,

  2. Almost, almost, almost there! May you be holding your girl soon. Biting and kicking and all (not that that is a given). They all handle it in their own way. Sweet and difficult!
